A Manufacturing Business involves producing, processing, assembling, or fabricating goods and products. Under the PMEGP Scheme, individuals aged 18 years and above can establish eligible new manufacturing enterprises with a project cost up to ₹50 lakh, subject to scheme eligibility, project viability, and bank approval. For manufacturing projects costing above ₹10 lakh, the applicant must have at least VIII standard pass qualification. The Margin Money Subsidy is 15% (Urban) and 25% (Rural) for the General Category, and 25% (Urban) and 35% (Rural) for SC, ST, OBC, Women, Minorities, Ex-servicemen, Transgender persons, Persons with Disabilities (PwD), Aspirational Districts, and other eligible Special Categories, as per PMEGP guidelines
Service Business
A Service Business provides professional, technical, repair, transport, healthcare, educational, hospitality, IT, and other customer-focused services. Under the PMEGP Scheme, eligible individuals aged 18 years and above can establish new service enterprises with a project cost up to ₹20 lakh, subject to scheme eligibility, project viability, and bank approval. For projects costing above ₹5 lakh, the applicant must have at least VIII standard pass qualification. Retail & Trading Business
A Trading Business involves the sale and distribution of eligible products through retail outlets or other permitted business activities. Under the PMEGP Scheme, eligible trading activities may be supported subject to the scheme guidelines, location, nature of products, and applicable conditions. Eligible activities include retail outlets selling Khadi and Village Industry products, products manufactured by PMEGP units and SFURTI clusters, and retail outlets backed by manufacturing or service facilities. Certain sales outlets may also be permitted in NER, LWE-affected districts and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The maximum project cost is ₹20 lakh for eligible Business/Trading activities, subject to project viability and bank approval.
